KALI MANDALA

183 by 183 cm.; 72 by 72 in.

Signed and dated lower right: Om Prakash 2005 Acrylic on canvas Om Prakash’s Mandala images release his own personal energy as well as the viewer. His working vocabulary of forms is linked with Tantric symbols: the square, circle, triangle, crescent associated with elements in nature and of course the bindu – the centre. These are not always placed in any traditional order, but juxtaposed according to a perceptual process and thus emerge as regular symmetrical forms. Om Prakash, a highly accomplished musician in his own right, incorporates and culls out his own special vocabulary from the vedic chants of divine Tantra in his paintings.
