Gangoly describes this cartoon in The Humerous Art of G.T. as ‘The Anglicised Bengalees rigged out in English dress-coat, tie and hat, with a chicken peeping out of one’s pocket – still retaining a faith in the worship of the Gods in the temples, pray for their blessings. The first man salutes the Image with folded hands in the old way, while his friend behind salutes with the hat held in his hand at an angle in the new way.
