Dawn Awakening encompasses the notion of being visible both within and without in all embracing luminosity. The purity of dawn has a presence that permeates both experience and existence. Ganesha is simultaneously our benefactor, friend and saviour. He gives us a foothold during times of limitation and earthly strife. This work makes us contemplate the origin and the beginnings of everything in life, higher consciousness permeating the earthly realm through invocations of Ganesha at sunrise. This work embodies that philosophy. The individual (Jiva) becomes the divine (Shiva) through the internal repetition of the divine name. The Chadogya Upanishad says: Meditate on the name as Brahman. That is what the dawn’s awakening leads us to. Emerging from the twilight, Ganesha invites us to meditate upon the person within. Invoking Ganesha’s name at dawn is a calling card for kinship and grace. Ganesha as lord of the multitudes is a vehicle for adoration.
